Creative Exploration

physical prototyping and more

I’m constantly exploring how technology enhances real-world experience—from prototyping guitar-integrated drum triggers to painting murals with VR and AI assistance. I’m currently learning chainsaw carving with the intent to fuse traditional tactile craft with mixed reality prototyping. These explorations fuel my belief that the best interaction design lives where the digital and physical meet.

SwordSwipe Studios

creative passion

I’ve spent the last several years developing the game Bot Gaiden, which is now on Steam (PC), Nintendo, Xbox, and Playstation platforms. Among the many hats I’ve worn in willing this game into existence, I’ve also served as the primary UX and UI designer. I’ve performed many, many cycles of iterative design and testing to achieve a level of polish I’m very proud of. Here are a few examples of the UX challenges we faced, and how I went about solving them.

Auto-Owners Insurance

one company, vast experiences

Over the course of my career at Auto-Owners I’ve served in many positions: Mainframe Developer, C# Developer, Manager, IDEAS team leader, UX Designer, Front End Developer, and Senior UX Design Lead. Along the way I’ve worked with just about every area of the company from the various Insurance Lines (Auto, Property, Umbrella, Life, Commercial, Work Comp, and beyond) to the other areas that make the company go like Claims, Marketing, Billing, HR, Real Estate, Warehouse, Actuarial, and Legal. Over the last decade+ I’ve used and grown this knowledge in the course of building our UX team from its humble beginnings. No one can claim quite the same perspective on the company as I can, and I leverage that understanding to paint a picture of “what could be”. Here are a few recent examples.
